Linear Recruitment are working alongside a new build housing developer in Nottingham to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for the commercial team.

This role is ideal for someone currently with a house builder seeking progression, or someone from construction/civils seeking a stable office-based position.

You will handle cost control, payments, reporting, and stakeholder liaison as part of a growing commercial team.

Qualifications

• Degree or technical qualification relevant to quantity surveying.
• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a house builder.
• Strong commercial awareness and cost control.
• Proven track record delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Knowledge of supply chain management.
• Negotiating, communication and presentation skills.
• RICS or CIOB qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Control all expenditure
• Reconcile cost/value reports & profit forecasts
• On-boarding of Sub contractors/suppliers
• Ensuring value for money & financial assessments
• Manage day to day cost control & monitoring & reporting
• Process Sub contractor requests for payment via application & invoice
• Attend project & company related meetings
• Ensure timely cash flow management
• Maintain & develop professional relationships with clients & customers
