Job summary

Linear Recruitment Ltd is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major, high-profile construction project in the United Kingdom. You will support the commercial management, work with the Quantity Surveyor and project team to ensure costs, contracts and performance are managed, with opportunities for professional progression.

Qualifications

Experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Graduate QS role.
Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline.
Experience in construction or civil engineering sector.
Understanding of construction contracts and commercial principles.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Good communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Proactive approach and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Assisting with preparation and management of project budgets and cost forecasts.
Supporting interim valuations and payment applications.
Assisting with subcontract procurement, tender analysis and package management.
Monitoring project costs, variations and change control.
Assisting with subcontractor accounts preparation and agreement.
Reviewing subcontractor applications and variations.
Maintaining commercial records and cost reports.
Supporting monthly reporting and forecasting.
Managing commercial risks and opportunities with the team.
Collaborating with site, design, procurement and project management teams.
