Job summary

MJ Quinn in Liverpool is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will support financial and commercial management of projects within the Energy and Critical Infrastructure Division.

Key duties include cost control and value management, producing monthly CVRs and forecasts, assisting with subcontractor procurement and payment applications, managing variations, and monitoring budgets, WIP and cash flow.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying.
• At least 2 years' post graduate experience, with an MEP contractor.
• Exposure to NEC 4 Agreements.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cost control and value management.
• Support the preparation of monthly CVRs, forecasts, and commercial reports.
• Assist with subcontractor procurement and payment applications.
• Help manage variations, compensation events, and commercial documentation.
• Support budget monitoring, WIP analysis, and cash flow reporting.
• Maintain accurate project records and commercial administration.
• Liaise with operational teams and supply chain partners.
