Job summary

ScottishPower is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the Commercial Team in controlling contract expenditure and ensuring compliance with commercial regimes.

The role focuses on assisting with audits, budgets, forecasts and performance data, while maintaining strong relationships with contractors and internal teams. You will contribute to risk management and value delivery within Energy Networks, based in Scotland.

Qualifications

• Valid full drivers license.
• Experience in Quantity Surveying across multiple locations and high volume works.
• Experience of operating in a commercial market.

Responsibilities

• Control external contract expenditure through scope control, change management and verification processes.
• Audit contract administration to ensure compliance with processes.
• Measure supplier delivery performance against KPIs and prepare reports.
• Provide contract benchmarks, cost, budget and forecasts for business improvement.
• Audit contractor costs and challenge excessive spends against benchmarks.
• Manage contractual relationships and interface with senior contractor staff.
• Develop budgets and risk registers for Target Cost works, evaluate tenders and allocate risk.
• Agree value of works for interim payments with contractors.
• Represent Energy Networks at negotiation meetings.
• Contribute to Operating Plans and Network Connections business.
