Job summary

Barratt Redrow PLC is seeking a proactive individual to join our Commercial team as an assistant with cost control and surveying responsibilities on a live site. You will assist in costing, reporting on costs and cash flows, and supporting tender preparation and subcontract procurement.

Qualifications

• Studying or recently qualified in surveying
• Must carry a valid CSCS card
• Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail, able to gather, interpret and present data to facilitate preparation of budgets and subsequent valuations
• Methodical, conscientious and organised, works to deliver high standards
• MS Office and Excel proficiency, with ability to generate professional correspondence
• Articulate and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work on own initiative
• Strong communication skills and teamwork
• Time management and ability to handle multiple priorities
• Team player and professional in dealing with colleagues

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining cost control throughout development
• Assist with accurate costing for each aspect of site development
• Assist with compiling reports on costs and cash flows using the support systems available
• Assist with preparation of tenders and procurement of sub-contractors using Group Tender procedures
• Process Subcontract orders, payments and variations using Excel and COINS
• Understand and assist with evaluation and agreement of variations and instruction
• Assist with controlling all commercial aspects and responsibilities with regards to respective RSLs
• Attend all team meetings and provide admin support
• Maintain filing systems and databases
• Promote compliance with Group policies and procedures
• Assist with compilation of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
• Be aware of new materials and construction methods used by the company
