Job summary

Abatec Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the delivery team on a £50M highway project in Weston-super-Mare. You will be part of the project-based commercial team, responsible for managing costs, valuations and CVR's, and supporting cost control over a 3-year construction programme. Hybrid working offered (1-2 days per week).

Salary band £35,000 - £45,000 per annum. The role requires a degree in Quantity Surveying and experience with NEC contracts; water sector

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying required.
• Experience with a tier one Civil Engineering contractor, ideally in the Water sector.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for applications, valuations / cost value reconciliation.
• Support cost control and forecasting; provide data for monthly reports (value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow).
• Take responsibility for supply chain management.

Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the delivery team on a £50M highway project in Weston-super-Mare. My client is a highly reputable Civil Engineering contractor acting as principal contractor on this essential highway project. You will be part of the project based commercial team, responsible for managing costs, subcontractors, CVR's etc over a 3-year construction programme.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will:

• Be responsible for applications, valuations / cost value reconciliation.
• Be involved with Cost control and forecasting. Preparing and feeding information for monthly reports:
• value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow.
• Take responsibility for supply chain management.
• Assist with Risk and Value Management to optimise solution.
• A degree (or similar qualification) in Quantity Surveying.
• Have experience working for a tier one Civil Engineering contractor, ideally within the Water sector.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• A good working knowledge of NEC suite of contracts.

Locations: You'll project based at Weston-super-Mare

Hybrid options: Hybrid working offered (1-2 days per week)

Salary band: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
