Job summary

Abatec Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for a project-based role in Bridgwater, Somerset. You will maintain cost records, control value, and lead change management within a Civil Engineering context.

Applicants should hold a Quantity Surveying degree and have experience with Tier 1 or 2 Civil Engineering contractors, plus NEC contract knowledge. Hybrid working available after probation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NEC form of contract is essential.

Job description

Our client, established over 50 years ago, is a specialist Civil Engineering contractor operating in the South West. Due to continued success and growth, our client is recruiting for an experienced Project based Senior Quantity Surveyor who has previously worked within the Civil Engineering sector. Our client is interested in applicants that have worked for either Tier 1 or 2 Civil Engineering contractors and have knowledge of NEC form of contract. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have commercial control of an initial £9m subcontract package, with further phases of work to follow.

• Maintain accurate records, control and reconcile costs and value, report variances against agreed performance, compliance and finance targets.
• Take control of change management.
• Be involved in a review of current procedures and processes and assist in the implementation of new and revised processes where required.
• Have previous experience of working for Civil Engineering contractors.
• Have strong commercial awareness and acumen.
• Hold a degree, or similar, in Quantity Surveying.

Location: Project based in Bridgwater, Somerset

Hybrid working: Flexibility of remote working after a successful probationary period

Working hours: 42.5 hours a week (flexible with start/finish times)

Salary band: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum
