Position: Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Essex, SS4

About the company:

• A young, reputable, growing mechanical and electrical (M&E) building services provider based in Essex.
• Part of a larger construction business
• Offer a comprehensive range of services, including electrical installations, HVAC systems, plumbing, and fire and security systems
• Projects include temporary works and full m&e fit out of schools, commercial offices and hotels up to GBP2m throughout London and Essex

They are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team, with the view to developing into a more Senior role as the business expands.

Full training and development will be provided.

Role Description: In this role, you will be responsible for the day to day commercial management of M&E projects of up to GBP1M from inception to completion. You will work closely with the Commercial Director, project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage costs on all M&E projects, including cost value analysis and reporting.
• Prepare subcontract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Advise on procurement strategies and manage the procurement of subcontractors.
• Perform risk and value management and cost control.
• Price variations and obtain agreement with clients.

Requirements:

• Recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying
• Proven experience working within a Commercial Teams in a Trainee or Assistant Quantity Surveyor role
• Ideally some knowledge and experience working with M&E Sub Contract packages
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Good Communicator
