As part of our exciting expansion in the North Home Counties region, we’re looking for a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you’ll support budget control for a mix of triple tenure sites, including Private, Affordable, and Build to Rent residential schemes across the North Home Counties.

What you will do

• Assist in general project coordination and administration.
• Support the preparation and negotiation of initial site budgets.
• Help with subcontract procurement, including obtaining risk assessments, method statements, and safety documentation from subcontractors.
• Undertake site visits and inspections, coordinating with site management and subcontractors.
• Assist in carrying out subcontract payments, variation claims, and final account settlements.
• Liaise with other departments and external consultants regarding cost issues.
• Support in issuing interim payment applications to RSL Partners.
• Participate in sub-contract pre-order meetings and regular project review meetings.
• Prepare monthly cost reports to ensure cost control throughout the development programme.
• Provide continuous financial advice to the Site Management team.

What we are looking for

• Experience:Some experience in quantity surveying within the residential housebuilding sector is desirable but not essential.
• Qualifications:A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is preferred.
• Skills:Strong analytical and numerical skills, excellent communication, and attention to detail.
• Knowledge:Basic familiarity with construction contracts, current building regulations, and industry standards.
• Proactivity:Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and support multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in COINS is a plus, and expertise in MS Word and Excel is essential.
