About the opportunity

We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team. You will work with Soben at an exciting time, playing a key role in achieving our growth targets. Supporting a major construction client in the region, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement and commercial strategies across various projects.

What you'll do

• Prepare cost estimates and cost plans for review, including benchmarking.
• Develop value engineering and life cycle costing options.
• Identify potential risks and maintain the risk register.
• Contribute to meetings on pre-contract processes.
• Assist in preparing procurement strategies and reports.
• Attend client meetings with senior colleagues and record discussions and actions.
• Participate in design team meetings, advise on cost implications, and implement outcomes.
• Assist in lease negotiations and validate tenant improvement allowances.
• Develop project templates.
• Help manage change order logs, invoice logs, and cost reports.
• Research pricing and assist with measurements for development appraisals.
• Draft and review pre-qualification questionnaires and responses.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

About you

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• At least two years of experience in cost estimating.
• Proficient in CostX software for estimates and bills.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of construction technologies and sustainability trends.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Field experience is a plus.
