The Company
A market-leading Principal Contractor with over 25 years of experience, delivering high-quality fittings and bespoke projects across the retail sector, working for major blue-chip retail clients.

The Role
Supporting the commercial team in delivering refit and refurbishment packages on retail projects nationwide, with project values ranging from £50k - £1m.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
Candidates must possess:

• 3+ years' experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a Main Contractor or Fit-Out Contractor
• Strong knowledge of commercial and construction contracts such as JCT
• Preferred background in fit-out or commercial construction
• Knowledge of refit and refurbishment projects valued between £50k - £1m
• Good communication skills, able to handle various tasks and stakeholders
• Well-organised, proactive, capable of managing all aspects of the works
• Commercial acumen and negotiation skills

Duties
Including but not limited to:

• Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor
• Submission of interim payment applications
• Preparation of monthly cost and value reconciliation reports / Project cost control
• Assisting with all commercial aspects of projects
• Preparation and submission of interim valuations
• Managing and valuing variations
• Attending meetings for final account agreements
• Post-contract client liaison
• Sub-contract negotiation and procurement
• Managing contract costs and payments to sub-contractors
• Handling contractual documentation and sub-contracts
• Placing sub-contract orders
