Job summary

The Lovell is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Peterborough team on a permanent basis. You will support the commercial delivery of refurbishment and planned maintenance projects, helping manage cost control, remeasurement, valuations and accounts.

We value accuracy and collaboration, with growth through guidance from senior QS staff and involvement in progress meetings with clients and supply chain partners.

Qualifications

• Must be organized, numerate and commercially aware.
• Strong attention to detail with good communication skills.
• Understanding of measurement, valuation, cost control or contract administration beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare valuations and interim/final accounts.

Job DescriptionPermanent - Full Time - 40 hours Are you looking to develop your commercial career while gaining hands‑on experience across the full project lifecycle? We're looking for a proactive and detail-focused Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Peterborough. Supporting the commercial delivery of refurbishment and planned maintenance projects, you'll help manage financial and cost control activities from contract award through to the completion of client and subcontract final accounts. Working closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors, you'll assist with project cost control, remeasurement of works and variations, stock inventories, valuations and interim and final accounts. You'll also support the administration of subcontractor accounts, helping to manage cash effectively, maintain accurate contract records and promote positive, long-standing supply chain relationships. As your experience develops, you'll contribute to progress meetings.

Accuracy will be central to your role, with responsibility for producing clear, timely and reliable commercial documentation. About you You'll be organised, numerate and commercially aware, with a genuine interest in developing your career within Quantity Surveying. You'll have strong attention to detail, good communication skills and the confidence to build effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. An understanding of measurement, valuation, cost control, construction or contract administration would be beneficial.
