Job summary

Mears Group is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Birmingham office. You will support commercial control and reporting on housing properties, delivering cost-effective commercial management and strong customer service.

You will assist with pricing, valuations, final accounts and subcontractor payments, while upholding health, safety and quality standards within a major 10-year Birmingham contract.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying.
• Strong understanding of building construction, contracts and QS procedures.
• Experience in the Social Housing sector is desirable.
• Ability to take quantities from sketches/drawings and abstract dimensions (SMM7/NRM).

Responsibilities

• Support cost, budget and value analysis across the contract.
• Produce CVRs, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Manage client invoicing and overhead reporting with finance teams.
• Process valuation certificates and maintain contractual docs.
• Assist with pricing, tender build-ups and variations.
• Support KPI monitoring and reporting to the team.
