Job summary

The Assistant Psychologist post sits within Cygnet Health Care's Scotland Social Care Services, covering five named services: Thistle House, Ellen Mhor, Rannaich House, Trinity House and Trinity Lodge. It is a full-time role (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday) in an interdisciplinary team, supporting a Qualified Psychologist with assessments and care planning.

Entry requires a 2:1 or higher psychology degree, or an equivalent qualification, plus an enhanced DBS check.

Qualifications

• Requires a 2:1 or higher psychology degree, or equivalent.
• Enhanced DBS check is required.
• Nice to have a Master’s degree or higher in psychology.
• Experience in health care and/or an Assistant Psychologist role is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the psychological care of people in the service, assisting a Qualified Psychologist.
• Contribute to assessments, scoring and reporting, both verbal and written.
• Develop clinical formulations and implement care plans for psychological treatment.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate individual and group programmes.
• Carry out administration, audit, research and service development.
