Job Description: The Assistant Construction Project Manager supports the Construction Project Managers in delivering end-to-end construction projects. This role involves assisting with all elements of project management, including project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the development of project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  2. Support the project managers by helping to coordinate work with engineers, architects, and other partners.
  3. Support the preparation and management of project budgets, helping to ensure costs are controlled and financial targets are met.
  4. Assist in ensuring that projects are delivered in full compliance with permits, licenses, and authorisations including CDM and Building Regulations.
  5. Participate in regular meetings, site visits, and provide feedback effectively.
  6. Help prepare project communications, including meeting notes, actions, project updates, and financial updates.
  7. Collaborate with project managers to address delays, risks, issues, or other problems during the project.
  8. Ensure adherence to BP Control of Work practices and policies, especially for high-risk activities, and comply with the Life Saving Rules.
  9. Support project managers in keeping all relevant project documentation up to date.
  10. Lead small construction projects from inception to completion.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction project management or a similar role.
  • Interest in construction project management with willingness to learn and develop technical skills and qualifications.
  • Higher-level qualification in construction management, engineering, or related fields is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
