The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager to join a growing Fit Out team working on high-profile projects across Commercial, Retail, Financial Frameworks, and Data Centre sectors. This is a fantastic role for someone with a strong site background who is looking to progress their career into full Project Management.
Key Responsibilities
Produce and issue RAMS
Take responsibility for Health & Safety on-site
Carry out site surveys for projects and minor works
Conduct inductions, toolbox talks, and manage near miss reporting
Oversee site waste plans and ensure proper management
Support pricing activities and advise on labour/material requirements
Review and interpret drawings and scopes of work
Maintain RFI schedules
Manage site-based teams including supervisors and PAYE staff
Coordinate site logistics and material deliveries
Implement cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality
Attend client and subcontractor meetings
Carry out quality checks and walk-throughs
Assist with project reporting and variation tracking
Support with cost management alongside the PM
Help with project sign-offs and handover documentation
Upload firestopping data and manage close-out packs (O&M)
Ensure project filing and records are ISO-compliant
Requirements
5+ years of experience within the fit-out or construction industry, ideally with a trade background
Comfortable in client-facing environments and able to liaise with building management and client reps
Proactive and confident in making decisions independently
Competent in MS Office and familiar with e-permit systems
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Capable of sequencing works and managing multiple trades
Able to remain calm under pressure and adapt to change
