Location: London (hybrid working arrangements) with travel to our Bristol project office and periodic travel to Europe.

Employment type: Permanent full-time/part-time.

Employment basis: The role is expected to be full-time; however, we are open to discussing a more flexible or part-time approach where possible.

Salary: £42,000 – £52,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

Are you looking for a rewarding career at the cutting edge of project development where you can make a difference? Join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the UK's most exciting megaprojects, supporting the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy.

Following the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build in Suffolk, with planning approval and government support. The project has started construction and is seeking private investment. Once completed, it will provide reliable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, aiding Britain in achieving Net Zero by 2050.

We are recruiting an Assistant Project Manager to support this project across key delivery programmes in areas such as:

• Nuclear Island (NI): housing critical components like the reactor, steam generators, and containment structure, responsible for heat generation and safety.
• Conventional Island: converting steam into electricity, working alongside the NI.
• MEH: developing the MEH delivery model and alliance, building on lessons from HPC.

Responsibilities

Supporting Project Managers to deliver systems, structures, and components within a nuclear power plant programme. Gaining hands-on experience on high-impact projects and ensuring successful contract execution in a collaborative environment.

Who you are

Ideal candidates will have experience in nuclear energy or a similarly regulated industry, with skills in communication, attention to detail, teamwork, and adaptability.

• Degree in engineering, technical, or project management discipline.
• Experience in project management or support roles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Knowledge of project controls such as cost and schedule management.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, possibly leading them to achieve targets.
• Experience in high-safety environments like Oil & Gas or MoD is preferred.

Desirable

• Previous experience in nuclear engineering or project management.
• Formal project management qualifications (e.g., PMP, APM).
