Job Introduction

BBC Food seeks a digital-first Assistant Producer with social media skills, food knowledge, and organizational ability to join our Bristol team. We create content to inspire and educate on nutrition, cooking, and sustainability, sharing stories of food culture and community.

Main Responsibilities

• Generate ideas for recipes, videos, and social media content
• Commission and create web content, including recipes and videos
• Manage social media copy and engagement
• Work with internal and external teams to promote content
• Analyze content performance to inform new ideas

Candidate Requirements

• Proficiency with social media platforms, especially Instagram and YouTube
• Interest and knowledge of food and cookery, with experience in recipe editing and publishing
• Video and picture editing skills, filming experience preferred
• Understanding of BBC Food audience and content creation
• Strong editorial judgment, accuracy, and awareness of UK food culture
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Digital literacy, web publishing, SEO knowledge
