Job summary

Ormiston Endeavour Academy in Ipswich is seeking an Assistant Principal - Teaching and Learning to drive school-wide improvement in teaching, learning and assessment. You will work with the Principal and SLT to shape strategy and support colleagues to elevate classroom practice.

The role emphasizes coaching, professional development and translating educational research into practical approaches, with a focus on raising achievement for all students across the curriculum.

Qualifications

• Significant and successful secondary teaching experience with proven impact on student achievement.
• Experience leading whole-school or cross-school improvement initiatives, including professional development.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills to develop colleagues at every career stage.
• Ability to translate educational research into practical, evidence-informed classroom approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development of teaching and learning across the Academy.
• Design and lead a whole-school instructional coaching programme.
• Support colleagues at every career stage to strengthen practice.
• Ensure the highest standards of teaching, learning and assessment across all curriculum areas.
• Collaborate with middle and senior leaders to remove barriers to achievement.
