Job summary

Cottenham Village College is seeking an exceptional Assistant Principal to join our ambitious Senior Leadership Team. This role focuses on strategic leadership, coaching, and developing staff to deliver excellent teaching, learning and behaviour across the academy.

You will work closely with the Principal and SLT to shape the future direction, monitor progress, and drive whole-school improvements while upholding safeguarding and equity throughout the school community.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of outstanding classroom practice with strong pupil outcomes.
• Experience of successful middle or senior leadership in a school setting.
• Ability to inspire, motivate and develop staff to achieve their best.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data to drive improvement.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with families and professionals.
• Experience delivering effective staff training and development.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and contribute to ongoing development and improvement of the academy.
• Lead and support monitoring and evaluation of teaching, learning and assessment.
• Drive improvements in classroom practice through coaching, mentoring and professional development.
• Deliver high-quality CPD that inspires colleagues at all career stages.
• Lead whole-school improvement projects and evaluate their impact on scholar outcomes.
• Support the implementation of academy priorities and ensure they are embedded across the school.
• Champion high standards of behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and pastoral care.
• Lead by example as an outstanding classroom practitioner and visible senior leader.
