Job Title: Assistant Principal – Inclusion SENDco

Salary Leadership Scale:L12–L16 (£65,286 – £72,162) per annum

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Oasis Academy Brightstowe, Shirehampton, Bristol

Start Date: September 2025

Oasis Academy Brightstowe is seeking a driven and compassionate Assistant Principal – SENDCO to join our leadership team. You will lead on SEND provision and strategy across the Academy, playing a key role in shaping our inclusive culture and ensuring every student reaches their full potential.

The Role

  • This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the development and delivery of our Inclusion Strategy, with a particular focus on SEND. You will:
  • Provide strategic leadership on all aspects of SEND provision
  • Lead a team of professionals to ensure high-quality support for students with SEND
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and leaders to embed inclusive teaching practices
  • Distil complex policy and research into actionable plans that drive improvement
  • Be the point of contact for all SEND-related matters, including external agencies and families
  • Support the wider pastoral and safeguarding agendas

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified teacher with leadership experience
  • Has a proven track record of supporting learners with SEND to make progress
  • Has experience coaching and developing staff to meet SEND needs in the classroom
  • Is confident in turning complex ideas into practical plans for implementation
  • Holds the NASENCO Award, or is willing to complete the qualification
  • Has a deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive education
  • Has excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Is passionate about inclusive education and committed to our Oasis ethos
