Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is offering a Band 4 Generic Assistant Practitioner role based at University Hospital Wishaw. You will work on a rolling rota, delivering care within a fast‑paced Trauma and Orthopaedic service as part of an Allied Health Professional team.

The role includes a Saturday shift every four weeks and potential extra shifts to cover leave and sickness. Applicants should hold an HNC or SVQ III in health/social care, have a driving licence, and be able to operate within defined clinical

Qualifications

  • HNC or SVQ III in relevant health/social care field required.
  • Experience handling delegated clinical caseloads per protocol.
  • Driving licence is required (UK/EU/EEA).

Responsibilities

  • Manage a delegated clinical caseload within defined parameters.
  • Assess, implement, progress and discharge treatment per protocols.
  • Plan and prioritise the delegated patient caseload.
  • Organise a range of therapeutic activities/clinics.

The Role
  • An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NHS Lanarkshire Trauma and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Team for a Band 4 Generic Assistant Practitioner. The successful candidate will be contracted to work one Saturday every four weeks as part of a rolling rota, with additional opportunities to undertake extra shifts to provide cover for annual leave and sickness absence.
  • Based at University Hospital Wishaw, this role offers the chance to join a dynamic and supportive Allied Health Professional team delivering high‑quality care within a fast‑paced Trauma and Orthopaedic service.
In This Key Role, You Will
  • Responsible for a delegated clinical caseload of patients whose treatment follows clearly defined parameters.
  • Assess, implement, progress treatment and discharge in accordance with agreed protocols and parameters.
  • Plan and prioritise delegated patient caseload.
  • Plan and organise a range of therapeutic activities/clinics
What You'll Bring
  • HNC in healthcare, education or social cares or SVQ III in healthcare, education or social care or equivalent experience in a health, education or social care environment.
  • Short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area.
  • Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
  • Knowledge of the therapeutic process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.
  • A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
