Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a Registered Physiotherapist to join the physiotherapy team. You will provide clinically competent assessment, advice and treatment in a safe clinical environment, on a 4 monthly rotation or a static post as per the role profile.

You will be accountable for your own practice, assess capacity, gain consent, and work within a legal framework while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and supporting Physiotherapy Support Workers.

Qualifications

  • Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration.
  • Excellent team working skills with the ability to use own initiative.
  • Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work including direct and indirect patient care.
  • Assess capacity, obtain valid consent and work within a legal framework with patients lacking capacity.
  • Independently assess, diagnose and determine need for physiotherapy intervention.
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, treat and progress patient care toward optimal rehabilitation and discharge decisions.
  • Delegate tasks and supervise Physiotherapy Support Workers to maximise efficiency and outcomes.
  • Participate in physiotherapy in-service training to promote personal development.

The Role

To work as a member of the Physiotherapy Team providing a professionally competent service, aiming to provide effective assessment, advice and treatment to patients attending Physiotherapy in a safe clinical environment on a 4 monthly rotational basis or as a static post – see role profile.

In this key role, you will:

  • To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work including direct and indirect patient care.
  • To assess capacity, gain valid consent and have the ability to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent.
  • Act independently to assess, analyse and provide a clinical diagnosis for individual patients to determine their need for physiotherapy intervention.
  • Act independently to plan, implement, evaluate, treat and progress patient care to maximise their rehabilitation potential – including decision making regarding discharge from care.
  • Delegate appropriate tasks and supervise Physiotherapy Support Workers to maximise efficiency and achieve desired outcome of care.
  • Actively participate in physiotherapy and specialist team in-service training programme to promote personal development.
What You'll Bring:
