Job summary

Novotel London Paddington, part of the Accor family, is seeking an experienced Assistant Night Manager to support overnight operations, lead the night team and ensure guest satisfaction. The role includes supervising the Night Audit, delivering high standards of service and maintaining security and safety across the hotel.

Based in London, you will work 39 hours per week and be the on-duty reference in the Night Manager's absence.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (spoken & written).
• Hospitality or hotel operations experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise overnight team and manage night operations.

Responsibilities

• Support the Night Manager in delivering a smooth, safe overnight operation.
• Act as Manager on Duty in the Night Manager's absence.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences by handling enquiries and resolving concerns.
• Assist with completing the Night Audit and revenue postings.
• Support daily, weekly and monthly operational and financial reporting.
• Ensure billing and cash handling procedures are followed to brand standards.
• Supervise and develop the Front Office Night Team.
• Conduct regular security patrols of the hotel and public areas.
• Ensure health, safety, fire and security procedures are followed.
• Oversee overnight room service operations and ensure service standards.
• Coordinate overnight staffing levels and cross-department communication.
• Coach and train team members in Accor standards.
• Monitor guest feedback and contribute to service improvements.
• Assist with handovers and maintaining operational standards.

This is a full time position, 39 hours per week.

Job Description

As our Assistant Night Manager, you will:

• Support the Night Manager in delivering a smooth, efficient and safe overnight operation.
• Act as the Manager on Duty in the absence of the Night Manager, taking responsibility for the hotel overnight.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences by handling enquiries, resolving concerns and leading by example.
• Assist with completing the Night Audit, ensuring all financial transactions, revenue postings and reports are accurate.
• Support daily, weekly and monthly operational and financial reporting.
• Ensure billing, cash handling and banking procedures are completed accurately and in line with company standards.
• Supervise, motivate and support the Front Office Night Team while assisting other departments as required.
• Conduct regular security patrols throughout the hotel, including public areas, guest floors, gym, garage and back-of-house areas.
• Ensure all health, safety, fire and security procedures are followed and respond appropriately to emergencies.
• Support overnight room service operations, ensuring orders are prepared, delivered and presented to brand standards.
• Assist with coordinating overnight staffing levels and maintaining effective communication between departments.
• Coach, train and support the development of team members in line with Accor brand standards.
• Monitor guest feedback and contribute ideas to continuously improve service and operational performance.
• Support the Night Manager with departmental administration, handovers and maintaining operational standards.
