Job summary

The Very Group is seeking a commercially minded Assistant Merchandiser to join its fast-growing Beauty team. You will work with the Merchandiser and Buying teams to shape the range, forecast demand and manage stock to maximise commercial performance.

You’ll analyse trends, support launches with brand partners, and deliver trading insights through weekly and seasonal analysis. The role offers a flexible, hybrid working model and the opportunity to develop in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in Merchandising or Assistant Merchandiser roles, preferably in Fashion or Beauty retail.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with ability to interpret large data sets.
• Experience of forecasting, stock management and trading analysis.
• Excellent Excel skills and confidence with planning and reporting tools.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Support range and assortment planning, including forecasting and maintaining range plans.
• Deliver weekly, monthly and seasonal trading analysis, identifying opportunities, risks and actionable recommendations.
• Manage in-season stock, intake and order books, ensuring availability is maximised across a portfolio of global Beauty brands.
• Monitor product performance, availability and sell-through, identifying actions to drive sales and improve customer experience.
• Work with Buying and brand partners to support new launches, exclusive product opportunities and key trading events.
• Analyse customer trends, market dynamics and competitor activity to influence commercial decision making and category strategies.
• Build strong relationships across Buying, Operations and Supplier partners to deliver ambitious growth plans.

About you

We'relooking for someone who can combine strong analytical capability with excellent commercial awareness.You'llideally have:

• Previousexperience in a Merchandising, Assistant Merchandiser or Merchandise Admin role withinFashionor Beautyretail.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets.
• Experience of forecasting, stockmanagementand trading analysis.
• Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with planning and reporting tools.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
