Job summary

The Very Group in Liverpool is seeking an ambitious Assistant Merchandiser for its fast-growing Beauty team. You will support range planning, forecasting, and stock management to ensure the right products are available at the right time and maximize commercial performance.

You will work closely with the Merchandiser and Buying teams to analyze data, deliver weekly and seasonal trading insights, and help launch exclusive opportunities with major brands.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical capability with commercial awareness.
• Excellent numerical skills and ability to interpret large data sets.
• Forecasting, stock management and trading analysis experience would be ideal.
• Excellent Excel skills and experience with planning and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Support range and assortment planning, including forecasting and maintaining range plans.
• Deliver weekly, monthly and seasonal trading analysis with recommendations.
• Manage in-season stock, intake and order books for global beauty brands.
• Monitor product performance, availability and sell-through to drive sales and improve customer experience.
• Collaborate with Buying and brand partners on launches, exclusives, and events.
• Analyze customer trends and market dynamics to influence category strategies.
• Build relationships across Buying, Operations and Supplier partners to hit growth plans.

You’llbe joining the Merchandising team who look to provide the customer with the right product at the right time. Working closely with the Buying team to build assortment strategies and focusing on ensuring the best possible range for our customers. Looking at internal data, history and competitor performance whilst managing brand and supplier relationships.

As Assistant Merchandiser,you'llwork closely with the Merchandiser and Buying team to help shape the future of our Beauty proposition.You'llplay a key role in planning,tradingand stock management, ensuring we deliver the right products, at the right time, to delight our customers and maximise commercial performance.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting range and assortment planning, includingforecastingandmaintainingrange plans
• Delivering weekly,monthlyand seasonal trading analysis,identifyingopportunities,risksand actionable recommendations
• Managing in-season stock,intakeand order books, ensuring availability is maximised across a portfolio of global Beauty brands
• Monitoringproductperformance,availabilityand sell-through performance,identifyingactions to drive sales and improve customer experience
• Working with Buying and brand partners to support new launches, exclusive productopportunitiesand key trading events throughout the year.
• Analysingcustomer trends, marketdynamicsandcompetitor activityto influence commercial decision making and category strategies
• Building strong relationshipsacrossBuying, Operations andSupplierpartnersto deliver against ambitious growth plans

About you

We'relooking for someone who can combine strong analytical capability with excellent commercial awareness.You'llideally have:

• Previousexperience in a Merchandising, Assistant Merchandiser or Merchandise Admin role withinFashionor Beautyretail.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets.
• Experience of forecasting, stockmanagementand trading analysis.
• Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with planning and reporting tools.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Strong communicationand influencing skills.
