Job summary

The Fragrance Shop in Manchester is seeking an Assistant Merchandiser to support the Merchandising team with reporting, forecasting, stock and availability. You will partner with brands, Account Managers and external suppliers to optimise stock and commercial performance.

The role suits an analytically minded individual with strong Excel skills, excellent communication, and the ability to handle a busy workload in a vibrant retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with Merchandising team to build relationships for supplier accounts and align forecasts, stock, ranging and commercial priorities.
• Support with supplier forecasts, replenishment, stockholding, ranging and availability.
• Review promotional performance and NPD performance with Buying team.
• React to sales and market changes to maximise sales and KPIs.

About the role:

This is a commercially focused Assistant Merchandiser role to support the Merchandising team in managing key supplier brands. You will work closely with the Merchandising team, Buying team, Account Managers and external brand partners.

You will be responsible for supporting the Merchandising team with reporting, forecasting, stock and availability, while also acting as a strategic commercial partner to brands.

This role is ideal for an experienced Assistant Merchandiser who enjoys combining analytical rigour with commercial decision-making and brand collaboration.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Work alongside the Merchandising team to support in building relationships for supplier accounts, collaborating with brands and Account Managers to align forecasts, stock, ranging and commercial priorities.
• Alongside Merchandising team, support with supplier forecasts, replenishment, newness buys, stockholding, ranging and availability.
• Reviewing promotional performance and NPD performance with the Buying team.
• Reacting to sales and changes in the market, ensuring sales are maximised and KPIs are met.

What you’ll bring:

• Currently working at Assistant Merchandiser level.
• Analytically minded and commercially aware.
• Excellent communication skills, highly organised with strong Excel ability.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and managing a busy workload.

Preferred but not essential:

• Experience within a fast-paced Beauty/Retail/FMCG environment.
