Job summary

The Irvine Company is seeking an Assistant Mechanic to support the Equipment Manager in overhauling and repairing automotive and powered equipment. The role requires attention to secure and replace tools, maintain a tidy shop, and assist with welding, lubrication, and servicing tasks.

Candidates should have knowledge of gasoline/diesel equipment, be capable of troubleshooting, and ideally speak English and Spanish. A valid CA driver's license is preferred for on-site work.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of gasoline and diesel equipment.
• Repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment.
• Mechanical ability with ability to follow directions.
• Good understanding of golf cart and golf course equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing all equipment.
• Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish).
• Automotive repair experience is a plus.
• Valid California driver's license and clean driving record.

Job Duties

• Assist the Equipment Manager or does work overhauling and repairing automotive/powered equipment.
• Secures and replaces tools and parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop area.
• Assists in electric gas welding lubricates and services automotive equipment.
• Inspects changes and repairs tires maintains mileage reports.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisors.
• Operate various pieces of equipment when needed
• Help supervise and train crew members in the proper and safe operation of all equipment
• Looking for experience working on golf course equipment.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations

• Working knowledge of general operations of gasoline and diesel equipment.
• Knowledge of the repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions mechanical ability.
• Aptitude for mechanical repair work methods.
• Good understanding of golf cart and golf course specialty equipment.
• Experience with troubleshooting and repair of all equipment.
• Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish).
• Automotive repair experience is a plus.
• Google Apps experience is a plus.
• Must have a valid CA drivers license and have a clean driving record.

Compensation

Base Pay Start Rate: $25.00
