Job summary

Leisure People in Kingston upon Thames is seeking an energetic Assistant Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of the centre and inspire the team to deliver outstanding guest experiences while driving commercial success and ensuring safety and efficiency.

This hands-on leadership role requires a positive, energetic approach, with at least one year of experience managing people and a background in customer service within leisure, hospitality, or retail.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering outstanding customer service in fast-paced leisure/entertainment environments.
  • At least one year’s experience managing people and acting as key holder.
  • Commercial awareness with ability to drive sales and promote new business opportunities.
  • Flexibility to work a varied rota including late evenings and weekends.

The Role

As Assistant Manager, you'll play a key role in leading the day-to-day operation of the centre. You'll inspire your team, deliver exceptional guest experiences and help drive commercial success while ensuring the venue operates safely and efficiently.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll lead by example and make a real impact every day.

About You

You’ll be someone who loves working with people, enjoys leading from the front and has the drive to build a successful career within a growing business.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A positive, enthusiastic and energetic approach.
  • Experience delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment such as leisure, hospitality, fitness, entertainment, visitor attractions, restaurants, bars or retail.
  • At least one year's experience managing people and operating as a key holder.
  • Experience in a role such as Assistant Manager, Duty Manager, Shift Manager, Restaurant Manager, Operations Manager, Service Manager, Store Manager or similar.
  • Commercial awareness with confidence in driving sales and promoting new business opportunities.
  • Flexibility to work a varied rota, including at least one late evening each week and up to three weekends in four, when the business is at its busiest.
