Job summary

gategroup is looking for an HR Shared Services Team Leader to oversee a team of HR Administrators and manage end-to-end HR administration across the employee lifecycle. You will drive improvements, handle escalations, and act as deputy to the HRSS Manager when required.

The role includes supporting HR projects, system enhancements (Workday), and producing management reporting while ensuring GDPR and employment law compliance. Monday-to-Friday hours provide stable work patterns.

Qualifications

HR Shared Services Team Leader

Leading a team of HR Administrators, you'll oversee end-to-end HR administration across the full employee lifecycle. From hiring and contract amendments to pay reviews, family leave and benefits. You'll ensure enquiries are resolved promptly and accurately, drive continuous improvement, and act as a trusted deputy, taking the reins in the HRSS Manager's absence.

Beyond the day-to-day, you'll support HR projects and system enhancements (we use Workday), produce management reporting, and ensure compliance with employment legislation and GDPR.

What we're looking for

• Proven team leadership experience, ideally within HR Shared Services or HR Operations
• A strong background in HR administration, with sound knowledge of the employee lifecycle
• A dependable, professional approach - calm under pressure, meticulous with detail and discreet with sensitive information
• A good understanding of UK employment legislation
• Confidence with HR systems (Workday desirable) and Microsoft Office

A CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential - relevant experience and the right approach matter most.
