Job summary

Mourant Services (Jersey) Limited is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Funds Services team in Jersey. You will support the Fund Accounting group with financial reporting across a varied client portfolio and help mentor trainees while ensuring high-quality service delivery.

The role requires strong accounting knowledge, familiarity with Yardi and Investran/PCS, and excellent Excel skills. A proactive, accurate, and collaborative mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Entitled or Registered residential status in Jersey, Channel Islands.
• Qualified ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience with UK GAAP/IFRS.
• Experience with Yardi and Investran/PCS accounting systems is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records in client databases (Viewpoint, Investran and Yardi).
• Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and bi-annual reports.
• Prepare and review periodic reports, capital account statements and NAV valuations.
• Understand transactions and liaise with your line manager regularly.
• Collaborate to ensure client expectations and deadlines are met.
• Build relationships with clients, auditors and third party service providers.
• Mentor fund accounting trainees and adhere to firm policies.

Job description

Our Funds Services team in Jersey is growing! We're looking for an Assistant Manager to join our growing Fund Services team in Jersey.

In this role, you'll work closely with Fund Accounting team on the provision of financial reporting services to a range of client entities.

About the role

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in the client entity databases (including Viewpoint, Investran and Yardi)
• Preparation and review of accurate and timely financial statements
• Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and bi-annual reports
• Preparation and review of periodic reports, capital account statements and net asset valuations, as required
• Ensure you have a detailed understanding of the transactions and clients you're dealing with and liaise with your line manager on a regular basis
• Work with colleagues and team members to ensure client expectations and accounting deadlines are properly managed
• Collaborate with client administration and other colleagues providing explanations, advice and accounting support as and when required
• Ensure consistency of accounting service levels across all clients and deal swiftly with any queries
• Build trusted relationships with clients, auditors and third party service providers
• Be an exam and career mentor to fund accounting trainee(s)
• Be familiar with and act at all times in accordance with the firm's policies and procedures

About you

• Must hold 'Entitled' or 'Registered' residential status in Jersey, Channel Islands.
• Qualified ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience with good up to date technical accounting knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, including practical application
• Previous experience of accounting systems, particularly Yardi and Investran/PCS would be an advantage
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel, with on the job coaching also provided
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• A positive and flexible approach
• An aptitude for data analysis and problem solving
