Manchester Central is seeking an experienced Café Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of our busy in-house café, ensuring outstanding service, quality food and efficient performance.

You will lead and develop the café team, manage stock, cash handling and POS reporting, while maintaining high hygiene and safety standards and supporting events to boost revenue. This full-time role requires flexibility for weekends and peak periods.

Reporting directly to the Hospitality and Event Manager, this role is working on a full time, permanent basis.

Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Managing the day-to-day operation of the café, ensuring exceptional customer service, food quality and operational efficiency.
• Leading, motivating and developing the café team through effective supervision, training and scheduling.
• Managing stock control, ordering, cash handling, POS systems and reporting on sales and operational performance.
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety and health and safety compliance, while supporting promotional activity and events to drive revenue.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a café, restaurant or hospitality management role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop others.
• Excellent communication, customer service and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience of stock control, financial management and using café management or POS systems.

You must:

• Hold a Food Safety Level 2 qualification and have a good understanding of HACCP principles.
• Be passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences and maintaining high standards.
• Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make confident decisions under pressure.
• Be flexible to work a range of shifts, including weekends, bank holidays and evenings during peak periods.
