Job summary

Halfords is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our Garage Services team in a Fusion centre environment. You will work with the Centre Manager to deliver productive management, drive profitability and provide an outstanding customer journey.

You may split time between the workshop and sales areas, supporting technicians and handling daily sales and customer service. A path for progression and training is available.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high customer satisfaction through management.
• Ability to coach and train colleagues on the floor.
• Experience meeting H&S compliance standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• IT proficiency and willingness to learn in-house systems.
• Valid driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Centre Manager with daily sales and customer service.
• Spend time between workshop and showroom supporting technicians.
• Drive profitability and ensure a great customer journey.
• Lead by example to deliver service standards.

As an Assistant Manager, you’ll work alongside the Centre Manager, to provide productive management and leadership, driving profitability, with firm focus on the customers journey. Ideally you will have had previous hands‑on experience as a mechanic as you will be dividing your time between the workshop, working alongside the technicians, and assisting the Centre Manager with daily sales and customer service.

• On-target earnings up to £43,422
• Comprising a base salary of £36,322
• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £7,100 per year

• Experience / Ability to deliver high customer satisfaction and experience through effective management
• Experience / Ability to deliver coaching/training in the moment to colleagues
• Experience of meeting compliance standards across Health and Safety
• Excellent communication skills, verbally and written
• IT Proficient, with the willingness to learn in-house systems
• A current valid driving licence
