Job summary

CLARK'S in Portsmouth is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager and lead the retail team. You will help drive daily operations, customer service excellence and sales performance.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to work a 7-day shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays. You’ll use POS systems and inventory tools to keep the store running smoothly and meet targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail leadership or supervisory roles.
• Ability to drive KPIs and performance.
• Excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills.
• Flexible to work a 7-day shift including weekends/bank holidays.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient with POS, inventory management, and MS Office/Google tools.

About the role:

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in leading our retail team and driving daily operations. This role is a blend of leadership, customer service, and operational management. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who can step in wherever needed to ensure the store runs smoothly and meets performance goals.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Previous experience in retail leadership, supervisory, or keyholder roles preferred.
• Comfortable in driving KPI’s and results.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and inspire a team.

• Flexibility to work a 7-day shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Basic knowledge of POS systems, inventory management, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace tools.
