The Green Man in Harlow is seeking an ambitious Assistant Manager to join our team at this historic pub with 58 bedrooms and a lively food and drink operation. You will lead a front-line team, support the General Manager and ensure superb guest experiences across service and standards.

You’ll drive sales, coach your team, manage shifts and maintain safety and compliance. We offer a competitive salary of £33,000–£37,000 plus bonus, pension and extensive staff discounts across Greene King brands,

What you'll be doing

As Assistant Manager, you’ll be a key part of the leadership team, working closely with the General Manager to keep the pub running brilliantly.

You’ll be:

• Leading and inspiring the team to deliver great service every time
• Making sure our guests receive a warm welcome and have a brilliant experience
• Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the business
• Helping drive sales, standards and commercial performance
• Coaching and developing your team to reach their potential
• Taking ownership of shifts and making sure everything runs smoothly
• Maintaining high standards across service, food, safety and compliance
• Building strong relationships with both your team and our guests

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who is confident, hands-on and passionate about hospitality.

You’ll ideally have experience in a supervisory or management role within a busy pub, restaurant or hospitality environment, and be ready to take the next step in your career.
