Job summary

The Green Man in Harlow is seeking an ambitious Assistant Manager to join our pub team under Chef & Brewer. You’ll lead with the General Manager to deliver warm hospitality and a memorable guest experience.

You’ll inspire your team, drive sales, maintain service standards, and ensure safety and compliance while building strong relationships with guests and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervisory or management role within a busy pub/restaurant or hospitality env.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Commercial awareness and decision-making under pressure.

What you'll be doing

As Assistant Manager, you’ll be a key part of the leadership team, working closely with the General Manager to keep the pub running brilliantly.

You’ll be:

• Leading and inspiring the team to deliver great service every time
• Making sure our guests receive a warm welcome and have a brilliant experience
• Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the business
• Helping drive sales, standards and commercial performance
• Coaching and developing your team to reach their potential
• Taking ownership of shifts and making sure everything runs smoothly
• Maintaining high standards across service, food, safety and compliance
• Building strong relationships with both your team and our guests

Qualifications

What we're looking for

We’re looking for someone who is confident, hands-on and passionate about hospitality.

You’ll ideally have experience in a supervisory or management role within a busy pub, restaurant or hospitality environment, and be ready to take the next step in your career.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who:

• Leads from the front and brings energy to every shift
• Cares about delivering a great guest experience
• Knows how to motivate and develop a team
• Is commercially aware and understands what makes a successful pub
