Job summary

Clarks in Colchester is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager and lead our retail team in delivering daily operations and exceptional customer service.

The role combines hands-on leadership with KPI-driven performance, inventory control, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You’ll work a 7-day shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays, and use POS, stock systems, and office tools to keep the store running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail leadership or supervisory roles.
• Comfortable driving KPIs and results.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and inspire a team.

About the role

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in leading our retail team and driving daily operations. This role is a blend of leadership, customer service, and operational management. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who can step in wherever needed to ensure the store runs smoothly and meets performance goals.

• Previous experience in retail leadership, supervisory, or keyholder roles preferred.
