Job summary

Eaton Syalon Ltd in North Derbyshire is recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant on a fixed-term maternity-cover contract. You will work closely with the UK Head of Finance and stakeholders across the business to ensure accurate financial processing and timely reporting.

You will handle purchase ledger and accounts payable, general ledger and month-end close, fixed assets, intercompany, stock and audit preparation, with a practical, hands-on approach and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a varied transactional finance or Assistant-Accountant role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and ability to work with financial data.
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accurate financial records.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at different levels.
• A motivated team player who is comfortable taking a practical, hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and post to accounts payable within agreed timescales.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and goods receipts where applicable.
• Investigate and resolve invoice queries with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare and post payroll journals, accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments.
• Support the month-end close process with accurate tasks and reconciliations.
• Process fixed-asset additions, disposals and transfers.
• Raise intercompany recharge invoices and reconciliations.
• Provide credit-control support for overseas customers, including ageing and queries.
• Support year-end audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
• Provide cover for other finance team members during busy periods and absences.
