Job summary

Sewell Wallis is recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant on a 12‑month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. You will join a busy finance team in Sheffield, supporting month‑end and wider accounting processes with a proactive, detail‑focused approach.

The role offers hybrid working (3 days on site) with free parking and a varied remit across the finance function. Immediate start or short notice period preferred.

Qualifications

• QBE or part-qualified with knowledge of month-end processes and financial accounting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive and organised with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end close process.
• Prepare and post journals.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process and post sales ledger invoices.
• Prepare accruals and prepayments, including utilities.
• Support the Finance Manager with wider duties and ad hoc reporting.
• Ensure financial information is accurate, complete and deadlines are met.
