Job summary

Axon Moore Group Ltd is assisting in Wakefield with a permanent role offering study support for ACCA/CIMA and a pathway to broaden exposure to management accounts within an established manufacturing finance team.

The role provides a mix of management accounting and transactional finance responsibilities, including reconciliations, journals and month-end processes, with the opportunity to develop further as you progress.

Qualifications

• AAT-qualified or AAT studier
• Experience in a varied finance or accounts position is preferred
• Good understanding of reconciliations, journals and month-end processes

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts and day-to-day finance tasks
• Complete balance sheet and bank reconciliations
• Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments
• Assist with month-end processes
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Maintain the general ledger and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with fixed asset accounting
• Support supplier reconciliations and credit control when required
• Gain exposure to different areas of finance as your experience grows

Wakefield Permanent Study Support Available £35,000

Are you an AAT-qualified or AAT studier Assistant Accountant looking for a role that will give you more exposure to management accounts and help you take the next step in your career?

This could be a great opportunity to join an established manufacturing business with a well-established finance team. The role offers a broad mix of management accounting duties and transactional finance, giving you the chance to build on your existing experience while gradually taking on more responsibility.

What will you be doing?

Working closely with the wider finance team, you'll have involvement across both the day-to-day finance function and the monthly reporting cycle. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Completing balance sheet and bank reconciliations
• Preparing journals, accruals and prepayments
• Assisting with month-end processes
• Supporting purchase and sales ledger activity
• Maintaining the general ledger and investigating discrepancies
• Assisting with fixed asset accounting
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Helping with supplier reconciliations and credit control when required
• The role is deliberately varied, so you'll gain exposure to different areas of finance rather than being restricted to one area of transactional accounting.

What are they looking for?

You'll ideally be AAT qualified with experience in a varied finance or accounts position. You should have a good understanding of reconciliations, journals and month-end processes, alongside some exposure to management accounts.
