Job summary

Sharp Consultancy is seeking a part-qualified CIMA/ACCA professional to join a growing manufacturing business as a Management/Accounts role. Reporting into the Senior Management Accountant, you will deliver timely financial information and support the wider finance team.

You will assist with monthly and year-end accounts, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reporting, with opportunities to develop your technical accounting skills and commercial

Qualifications

• Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA or working towards qualification.
• Strong understanding of management accounting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly and year-end management accounts to deadlines.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and wider financial planning activities.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare variance analysis with clear commentary on results.
• Produce management information and reports for senior management discussions.
• Support month-end close including journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Maintain data accuracy in line with policies and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.
• Contribute to ad hoc finance projects as needed.

Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a CIMA/ACCA part-qualified professional, or someone currently working towards their qualification, to join a successful and expanding business operating within the Manufacturing sector.

Reporting into the Senior Management Accountant, you will provide essential support to the wider finance team, helping to deliver timely and accurate financial information, contribute to management reporting, and support the business with informed financial and commercial analysis.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly and year-end management accounts, ensuring all reporting deadlines are achieved
• Supporting the Senior Management Accountant with budgeting, forecasting, and wider financial planning activities
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving any discrepancies or unusual movements
• Preparing detailed variance analysis, providing clear commentary around financial and operational results
• Producing management information and reports to support senior management and leadership discussions
• Supporting the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments
• Ensuring financial data and records remain accurate and up to date, in line with company policies and internal controls
• Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, systems, and management reporting
• Assisting with wider finance team activities and providing support on ad hoc projects when required

The ideal candidate will be studying towards CIMA or ACCA, or be motivated to begin a professional accounting qualification. You will have previous experience in a Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant, or Finance Assistant position.
