Job summary

Staffing Lab Ltd in Telford is partnering with a well-established client to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant on a full-time, permanent basis. The role supports month-end reporting, cost monitoring and payroll, with opportunities for professional development and a real impact on site finance processes.

You will be based on-site with free parking, working Monday to Friday days, and reporting into the Finance Manager. A competitive salary and bonus potential are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance or accounting role with exposure to month-end.
• Understanding of budgeting, cost monitoring and variance analysis.
• Payroll processing and stocktake experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and quarter-end reporting and analysis.
• Monitor costs and report variances against budget.
• Flag financial risks to the Finance Director.
• Act as a contact for auditors, advisers and banks.
• Oversee accurate monthly payroll processes.
• Prepare supplier payment runs within internal controls.
• Present financial performance to stakeholders at all levels.
• Assist improvements to finance processes and systems.

Staffing Lab is partnering with a well-established client in Telford to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant into their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for a finance professional looking to take the next step towards management accounting.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 + bonus opportunities

Hours: Monday - Friday, days

Contract: Permanent

The role

Reporting to our client’s Finance Manager, you’ll support month-end and quarter-end reporting, monitor costs across the business and help keep core financial operations accurate and on time. You’ll also help develop the Finance Administrator and play a real part in improving finance processes across the site.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting month-end and quarter-end reporting
• Monitoring costs and reporting variances against budget
• Flagging financial risks to the Finance Director
• Acting as a key contact for auditors, advisers and banks
• Overseeing accurate monthly payroll
• Preparing supplier payment runs within internal controls
• Presenting financial performance to stakeholders at all levels
• Driving improvements to finance processes and systems
• Supporting the bi-annual stocktake

What our client is looking for

• Based within a commutable distance of Telford, as this is a fully on-site role
• Experience in a finance or accounting role with exposure to month-end
• Understanding of budgeting, cost monitoring and variance analysis
• Supplier payments experience within financial controls
• Payroll processing and stocktake experience (2 years preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to hit deadlines
• Confident communicator with internal and external stakeholdersProactive, with an eye for process improvement
