Assistant Management Accountant – Penzance - Circa: £30,000 DOE

Trial Balance Consulting is pleased to be re-engaged by a longstanding client, a successful and expanding services business with multiple group entities across various sectors. We are seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team in a permanent, full-time role based at their headquarters near Penzance.

This role involves supporting the finance function, reporting to an experienced Finance Manager. It is suitable for candidates eager to develop their management accounting skills and take responsibility for producing high-quality management information. Key responsibilities include:

1. Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts
2. Supporting month-end procedures within tight deadlines
3. Managing accounts payable and receivable controls
4. Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
5. Creating invoices and resolving discrepancies
6. Monitoring aged debtors
7. Assisting the Finance Manager with ad-hoc duties

Ideal candidates will be part or fully AAT qualified, or possess relevant vocational experience with a desire to progress. Good IT skills, including familiarity with digital accounting platforms such as Sage or Xero, are essential. Excellent communication and team-working skills are required due to the collaborative nature of the role within a busy environment and interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
