Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively re-engaged by one of our longstanding clients, a highly successful and rapidly expanding services business consisting several business entities operating throughout Cornwall. They currently seek to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team. The role is offered as a permanent, full-time position to be based at the company’s headquarters in Truro (with parking), but with a potential hybrid option available if required (details to be discussed with shortlisted candidates).

This is a broad role where the successful candidatewill play a key part in supporting the finance function, reporting into an experienced and friendly Financial Controller (also introduced by Trial Balance Consulting). The opportunity would be particularly well suited to a candidate that seeks to enhance their management accounting skills, ultimately taking overall responsibility for the production of high quality management information. Main duties of the role to include:

- Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts

- Assisting with all month end procedures to tight deadlines

- Head up a range of finance focussed business partnering responsibilities

- Play a key role in administering funding claims and overseeing tender processes

- Ensure efficient accounts payable and receivable controls

- Bank/balance sheet reconciliations

- Assist with year-end and annual audit procedures

- Supporting the Finance Manager with various ad-hoc duties and tasks

- Work closely with colleagues outside of finance

The role works within a busy function and the successful candidate will liaise with many internal and external stakeholders so good communication and team working skills are a prerequisite!
