JSS is working with a leading Reinsurer for an Assistant Management Accountant role. Reporting to the Management Accountant, this position involves delivering accurate and timely financial information to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.

The core responsibilities include:

• Preparing accurate and timely period-end workpapers and schedules, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and journal entries.
• Preparing monthly expense reports with detailed variance analysis and insightful commentary, ensuring delivery to budget holders within deadlines.
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting by collecting relevant data and compiling comprehensive reports.
• Contributing to the enhancement of internal and external reporting, utilizing tools such as Power BI to improve clarity and decision-making.
• Assisting in streamlining finance processes and optimizing the use of financial systems to improve efficiency and provide deeper insights into financial performance.
• Providing support with invoice posting and payment processing during periods of absence within the Accounts Payable team, ensuring continuity and accuracy of financial operations.

Qualifications and requirements:

• Part-qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or working towards qualification (desirable).
• 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
