Job description

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will interpret and translate your understanding of the business into financial information that you produce for management accounts, ensuring accurate results and analysis communicated with clarity.

Responsibilities:

1. Accountable for the preparation, analysis, and interpretation of key aspects of management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations and other financial controls, to meet deadlines.
2. Input data and journals into source systems to generate new financial data.
3. Ask questions and act responsively to build successful relationships and gain a good understanding of the business area, its activities, and products. Use this understanding to interpret performance variances and trends, ensuring insights relate back to financial results.
4. Utilize a range of tools and communication techniques to convey key drivers of financial performance.
5. Advise on causes of deviations in performance and recommend corrective actions. Escalate areas of concern to the Finance Manager promptly.
6. Apply complex accounting standards such as IFRS15 and IFRS16.
7. Manipulate large volumes of data using specialist finance applications and Excel, analyzing variances and trends with pivot tables and lookup functions. Maintain controls over data inputs, processing, and outputs to ensure accuracy.
8. Identify areas for improvement and implement risk prevention measures.
9. Enhance processes, efficiency, and quality of outputs.
10. Follow governance frameworks, including accounting standards, policies, procedures, and processes, seeking guidance from specialists when needed.
11. Respond promptly to ad hoc queries, communicate articulately, and provide analysis for internal and external auditors.
