Job summary

Sharp Consultancy is working with a well-established manufacturing business in Chesterfield to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to strengthen their finance team.

You will work closely with the Financial Controller, develop management accounting skills, gain exposure to month-end, reporting and commercial finance activities, and benefit from study support for an accounting qualification.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance or accounts department.
• Actively studying towards accounting qualification with study support.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills with attention to detail.
• Proactive learner with a genuine desire to develop.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Financial Controller with the preparation and maintenance of sales budgets and forecasts.
• Support the production of monthly management accounts.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Produce financial analysis and sales reporting to support business decision-making.
• Maintain and administer the company's expense claims system.
• Process payments and cashbook postings.
• Oversee sales rebate calculations and reporting.
• Calculate and maintain labour and overhead recovery rates.
• Support a variety of finance projects and ad hoc reporting requirements.

Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with a well-established manufacturing business based in Chesterfield as they look to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to strengthen their finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who is actively studying towards an accounting qualification and is looking to develop their management accounting skills within a supportive and fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the Financial Controller with the preparation and maintenance of sales budgets and forecasts.

• Producing financial analysis and sales reporting to support business decision-making.

• Maintaining and administering the company's expense claims system.

• Processing payments and cashbook postings.

• Overseeing sales rebate calculations and reporting.

• Calculating and maintaining labour and overhead recovery rates.

• Supporting a variety of finance projects and ad hoc reporting requirements.

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience working within a finance or accounts department.

• Be actively studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA or CIMA), with study support available.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of data.

• Excellent analytical skills and keen attention to detail.

• A proactive approach with a genuine desire to learn and develop.
