A leading company in the construction sector is seeking a finance support role that ensures accurate financial records and contributes to ongoing system upgrades. This hands-on position involves core activities like managing ledgers and preparing accounts in a collaborative team environment, offering stability and growth potential.
This isn't a role for someone chasing titles or looking to manage a team tomorrow.
It's for someone who enjoys keeping finance organised, accurate, and on track, someone who takes pride in getting the details right.
You'll be joining a well-run business operating in the construction sector-a market that's not just active, but thriving. The business has seen consistent growth, is financially secure, and has a robust five-year plan already in motion.
If you're looking for stability, steady responsibility, and the chance to contribute to ongoing improvements, this role is worth considering.
You'll support the Financial Controller across all core finance activities, working as part of a small and focused team.
The company is preparing for a Sage 200 system upgrade, and you'll have a key part to play.
This is a hands-on role based in an open-plan, collaborative office, where finance sits alongside the wider business.
Maintain accurate purchase, sales, and general ledgers
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
Support budgeting and cashflow forecasting
Lead on reconciliations and ensure financial data accuracy
Prepare VAT returns and assist in external reporting
Contribute to the successful rollout of Sage 200
Gain exposure to CIS (Construction Industry Scheme)-useful experience, but not a must
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs as a minimum)
Experience with Sage 50, Sage 200, or similar accounting software
Methodical and accurate approach to routine finance tasks
Confidence working with people across departments
This role suits someone who prefers consistency over chaos. If you like to get your head down and keep things in order-while still being part of a growing business this is for you.
Construction is booming- projects are moving, demand is high, and this business is well-positioned
Long-term stability and growth- a strong financial foundation and active future plans
A chance to be involved in a finance system upgrade, without needing to lead it
Open, collaborative culture- finance is part of the business, not hidden away
Your contribution will be valued for what it is: essential to the day-to-day running of a successful company
