Assistant Management Accountant to join a well-established organisation in Sunderland on a maternity cover basis.

This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working from home three days a week, with two days in the office, and provides a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-performing finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the finance system, ensuring accurate coding and project costing
• Verify and post journals as required
• Calculate and post income and expenditure accruals and prepayments
• Prepare quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis
• Conduct income reconciliation and analysis
• Ensure revenue recognition aligns with accounting standards
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly management accounts
• Support the finance team in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts
• Collaborate with business managers to identify sustainable cost-saving opportunities
• Review supplier contracts and recommend renewals or alternatives
• Prepare reports to assess the financial performance of ongoing projects

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
