Job summary

Reed in Antrim is seeking a skilled Management Accountant to own the monthly management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, and to supervise day-to-day ledger activities in a fast-paced commercial environment.

You will deliver robust financial reporting, partner with operational teams on cost drivers and margins, ensure controls are in place, and provide timely financial information to support decision-making. This is an office-based role with a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a management accounting role.
• Strong understanding of month-end processes and financial reporting.
• Experience overseeing transactional finance / bookkeeping.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly management accounts and variance analysis with commentary.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes with accuracy.
• Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping including AP/AR, journals and reconciliations.
• Ensure robust controls and processes are followed throughout.

Management Accountant (Antrim)

£45,000 - £55,000 - Antrim - Full-time - Office Based

Our growing client seeks to appoint an experienced Management Accountant to play a pivotal role within the finance function. You will take ownership of the monthly management accounts, Budgeting & Forecasting along with overseeing day-to-day ledger activities in a fast-paced commercial environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong commercial awareness, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to deliver accurate and timely financial information to aid decision-making.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
  • Produce profit & loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Conduct variance analysis against budgets and prior periods with clear commentary.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Transactional Oversight:
  • Supervise and review day-to-day bookkeeping activities including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and journals.
  • Ensure appropriate controls and processes are in place and adhered to.
• Operational & Commercial Support:
  • Collaborate closely with operational teams to understand cost drivers and performance.
  • Analyse margins, costs, and warehousing performance metrics.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent).
